The triumph and tribulations of our little family! There are four of us, Brad, Kelcie, Addy, who is our amazing smart and curious 3 yr old, and Cierra, who is our happy bright bouncing 10 month old baby girl!

Christmas
It is over... The joy is spread, the mess is made and remade, now its time to clean it all up! As much as I love it, there is always a little bit of releif after Christmas is done! My girls were so amazing this year! Addy really is starting to understand the concept of Christmas and it was Ci's first Christmas... of course she loved the paper and boxes more than the presents themselves... go figure. Cute as ever though!
Brad did his usual fantastic gift, this yr it was pearls, gorgeous!
I gave him the ultimate man's Christmas, a big tool box and power tools

Addy had a fun little birthday! I think she really liked everything she did and of course the things she got. We did her birthday party at Jump-on-it and as my mom said" I can't catch her, she is a streak of green and black" Which you will understand when I get the pictures up. I think all the kids enjoyed it,
minus 1 or 2 small accidents. She kept trying to sneak a cupcake, which she was successful with when mom wasn't looking (Thanks Gran Gran and Aunt Nel). Wednesday, December 2, 2009
Addy went to the dentist

Addy had her first real dentist visit yesterday. She went last week, hid in the corner and wouldn't even open her mouth. Since she was so uncooperative, they prescribed her a mild sedative called Midazolam, she was pretty hilarious on it. Sadly, it wore off before they got her in because they were pretty backed up. I guess it didn't help that she spit half of the medicine out . (Although, I don't blame her, it tasted horrible!) She is a little bit outgoing and has a mass temper (hummm don't know where she got that one from) and that kind of came out in the end.
She has been cursed with her father's week enamel so she had a small decay spot. Nothing too major, but we wanted to get it taken care of before it got into anything more. Dr Brown was awesome with her. Surprisingly, she handled the drill fine and said it tickled, she was completely OK until he got out the hook thing (whatever it is called) and checked to make sure everything was out. It was on from there. She did come out of it in the end with 3 balloons and a certificate for an ice cream at Artic Circle, and Dr. Brown only ended up with a small bite, a pretty successful trip I think :P

The new job
So I start a new job on Monday, I am really excited but at the same time terrified. The thrill of a new adventure is always the most exhilarating! I have been with Shelley & Shelley for yrs now and its kind of scary and sad to leave. I will be working for Utah Health Informations Network, or UHIN. They unify the transformation of information between doctors and hospitals. The few people I have met seem really awesome, so it should be a great experience!

A little update.
Brad started a new job with Eichelberger Construction back in June, he is enjoying it. Things are a little different for him there, but he catches on quickly. He is a Track Operator. He really likes having the designated place to be unlike when he was working for Cody Ekker Construction. His boss is also pretty nice from what he says so thats a great thing :) He is starting back to school in a few weeks for his EMT certs then on to Fire engineering ( I know HOT he is going to be a firefighter) and I don't think he could be more ecstatic about that. I believe that will be an awesome career direction for him!
I have been getting stressed out trying to scratch together things for my new life I am creating. Its been insane! I will fill you in more on that as I am able to :) School starts for me too in a few weeks.. crazy!! I am really excited about the direction I have decided to go. After some long years of indecisiveness I have set my goals on law. I want to specialize in corporate and Taxation law. I guess we will see how well it works having 2 kids and both of us going to school!
Addy is as big of a busy body as ever, I think she runs on duracel!
Cierra is just as happy go lucky as she has ever been. She really is a little blessing to us :) She loves tummy time and has started eating cereal. She is growing much too quickly!
We are still in the air on the house stuff, I am getting pretty impatient, but we are sticking with it :)

My Little Angels
Sigh... I am starting to understand why they put people on 30 yr mortgages, one sane person only wants to do this once every 30 yrs! I am loving that we have such a wide array of options to buy for a home, but I don't think they can make it any more difficult to get into one! We are very positive buyers with amazing rates and a nice down and they are still giving us a hard time! OK now I have ranted...
I realized how big my girls are getting yesterday, Addy is really becoming a little adult. She is such a huge help around the house, and with Cierra! Yesterday I was in the middle of cooking dinner and Cierra started to fuss, Addy, knowing I couldn't get over there, ran upstairs and got Cierra's Binky and favorite toy giraffe. She started playing with her and got her to calm down. It almost stopped me in my tracks, she really is such an amazing little girl! Also, I have started listening and watching her closely when she is playing on her own. She is counting all the way to 20 with the exception of saying 6 (why 6, hummm) She has also learned how to spell her name and write "A"s and "D"s very well. She also loves to draw hearts and circles. She really loves to sing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and dance to anything she might hear whether it is the TV or the landscaper's radio outside. She is very spontaneous and strong minded. She is really an amazing gift that I have been given!
Cierra is getting to be so much fun too! She is seriously the happiest kid I have ever come across! She is also a mommy's girl, and goodness do I need her sometimes. She really knows when I am getting stressed out and gives me this cute little cuddling hug and a smile and it makes me melt! She loves Addy to death, I think she is her favorite "toy." She also loves to talk, she will talk almost all day long with a few 1 hr breaks in between when she naps.
I am really a very blessed mother!

The 4th

The 4th was so much fun! The day was a lot more relaxed than I am used to, but we still had a blast! We played down at the creek below Brad's Mother's house. Addy, as usual loved being in the water. Cierra, we discovered, hates cold water. Of course Brad and Clint were doing boy things with Quaken and Lance like building dams and jumping into shallow water. All the girls had fun and were a blast to watch! I can't wait until I can take Cierra into things like that a little more so i can get out and have a blast too!

Our anniversary
Yesterday was Brad and my Anniversary. Since he just started a new job we couldn't do our week long road trip like we had planned.. guess we will have to have a "second anniversary" He was great, he got roses and carnations and covered my house in them. He is really such a great guy, I am so lucky to have him!!!

House blues

Recommendation to everyone... do not purchase a Short-Sale house! We have been sitting on this since April 28th and we're supposed to know everything by today. DunDunDun, the bank ordered another BTO and we are still having to wait until July 1st. Haha I think Carol (our aunt and amazing real estate agent) is getting just as frustrated as us haha! So back to the waiting game!

Last minute canyon BBQ

Last night we went up the canyon to BBQ at High Mile. Clint made some awesome hamburgers that he was definitely proud of. The weather was perfect, a little windy for a minute, but otherwise awesome! Addy and her little friend Kadence had a blast playing in the water (of course her pants came off right when 1 drop of water hit them). There is a small pond like area just off the river there so they had a small area they could play in. The two of them are very similar, only a month apart in age, same attitude, and even close to the same size. They really seem to get
along very well. The only down side, they both have absolutely no fear! It was definitely a great relaxing evening!
I am so glad that we live so close to such an array of different landscapes. How many people really can in one minute be in a gorgeous canyon and the next be in the middle of a desert or a lake.

Life Updated
Things have been crazy!!! After Cierra was born on Feb 16, 2009 We had a blissful and easy 2 day stay in the hospital. Dr Wold allowed me to go home early as did Dr Wise for Cierra. After about a week home and things going, what seemed, very smoothly we had to make an emergency run to the hospital and I was readmitted. I woke Brad up at 2 am and called my mom to watch the girls and we were off. I had started bleeding so heavily that I lost half of my blood.. literally. I had to have 3 more surgeries to try and stop the bleeding. The final one was experimental and Dr Wold wanted to try something before having to possibly do a hysterectomy. They inserted what is called a Baraki Balloon into my uterus to sustain continual pressure in hopes that it would stop my bleeding. This was the first time Dr Wold had ever done this surgery and the first time it had been done at Am Fork Hospital... like I said... experimental! It worked! So here we are finally home and I think I REALLY am starting to get better. Things are great.
Cierra is almost a month old and she is growing like a weed! At her 2 week appointment on March 2nd, she had gained 1 inch and 1 lb 3 oz since birth. I don't even know how much she has even grown since then! She is getting to be sooooo alert! Addy loves her so much, and I am thankful for that... I thought that Addy would have murdered her, but strangely, it has been the exact opposite! Addy is so loving and helpful... its the best (almost too good haha) I am so lucky to have two amazing, beautiful little girls and such a wonderful family!

Still counting down
So, its 6 days until baby Cierra will be here (sooner if she decides) and I am finally starting to get nervous. The biggest thing that makes me nervous is, will Addy like her and be nice to her? The difference between Addy and Cierra will be the exact difference (almost to date.. the 17th would be to date)of age between me and my little sister. Growing up the two of us were the best of friends in some senses. We played very well together and would always back eachother up if our older siblings would pick on us, or even if we just wanted to gang up on them for something we were always there for each other. We got along excluding the hatred I had towards her for being babied by everything. She would get mad at me, bawl and I would get in trouble for nothing just because she was the baby, later I would beat her up. It was kind of a love hate thing... in about high school I think we hated each other... now we are dandy again. So will it take 20+ years for the two of them to get along completely? Scary! Can I really handle that long? Not only the two of them, but maybe having another one after this. Maybe I now understand why my mom is crazy (in the hypothetical sense). Maybe I am just creating anxiety that I don't need to have. Enough of that.
Thurs was the first day that my sis-in-law came into work. She is going to help around here while I am on my "extended vacation" as Steve refers to it (maternity leave). She is doing amazing!!! She caught onto things that other ppl have taken forever to catch onto. That has lifted some anxiety about things at the office.. Thank goodness she is here for me! Not only is it helping her, it is getting my brother off her back about going back to work when she really doesn't want to... so win win.
Well, I believe I want to get a few things done and head home early since I am supposed to be on bed rest. Tata
